Interesting Invention That Makes Your AC More Efficient
These guys already had this product and needed a website to sell it online. It was my first start-to-finish e-commerce creation, using Miva Marketplace. Not without a few hiccups, but eventually got a very smooth system working for the owner to easily administer his orders.
They had existing packaging and some print collateral, so these designs reflect design ideas they already had in place.
The owner had a outdoor misting-system company, and he evolved his products into this new invention. The idea is that evaporating mist cools the air through physics... so if you spray mist around your AC unit, it will cool the air and the unit will be able to run more efficiently and cool your house more effectively. From what I could tell, from customer comments and my own experiments, this thing actually worked.
I think the problem ultimately was that the little mist emitters would clog, and even though they added a water filter, it would eventually be too much of a pain to constantly change the filter. Also, there was some speculation that spraying water on your AC fins might eventually corrode them, but I don't know about that.
They are still in business, and have a new site that I had nothing to do with. They sold a fair amount of these when I was involved, and hopefully it keeps going.
